Friends of Hospice Bookshop

As we receive limited Government funding, the majority of our funds come from donations and fundraising efforts.

The Friends of Hospice auxiliary group was formed in 1996 and is an initiative developed by a group of volunteers committed to raising funds for the purchase of items which may enhance the quality of life and care of the guests at Hospice.

As part of these fundraising efforts Friends of Hospice operate a commercial enterprise – The Friends of Hospice Bookshop. This store is managed by volunteers and all goods sold in this store have been generously donated.

You will find a fantastic range of books to suit all tastes, as well as rare finds and bargains, when you visit our store which is located at…Shop 3, Old Flour Mill, 227 Brisbane Street, Ipswich.

The Friends of Hospice Bookshop is open Monday to Saturdays.

  • Monday-Friday: 8:30am-3:30pm
  • Saturday: 8:30am-12:00 noon

To date over $470,000 has been raised by Friends of Hospice and donated directly to Ipswich Hospice Care.  Monies raised have enabled the purchase of medical equipment, supplies, furniture, air-conditioning units for each guest room and items of support to guests and their families.
