Hospice Facilities
The Guest wing of Ipswich Hospice features six private rooms with ensuites and access to balconies overlooking a lovely park. Each room has its own television and air-conditioning unit. Our Guests and their families and friends are encouraged to avail themselves of all the facilities we offer: 24 hour access to food and drink preparation areas, access to the lounge areas, the outside balconies, and gardens. Accommodation in the “Family” room is available if required.
Hospice is a home away from home providing the help, support and care that you, your family and friends need.
What is it like at Hospice?
Ipswich Hospice stands on a hill surrounded by a peaceful garden of native trees, rose beds, an impressive display of plants, shrubs and the calming effect of water trickling between two well stocked fish ponds.
Looking out from the guest’s balconies the view spreads out over Limestone Park, the city of Ipswich and on towards the distant ranges. A path meanders through the garden to the front door and on entering the building you are enveloped in a warmth that is hard to describe; a feeling of peace, and calm, laughter comes from the kitchen and the cat warms itself in the rays of the winter sun streaming through a window.
The atmosphere of Hospice is gentle. The majority of workers there are volunteers – there because they choose to be, doing what they enjoy, for as long as they choose and it is that, to a large extent, that puts a whole new spirit into the place.
