Volunteering

Volunteers have been involved with Ipswich Hospice from the beginning, and contribute to many of the services we provide.  The different volunteering areas include: bereavement support; craft; Friends of Hospice bookshop; fundraising; gardening; guest wing; kitchen; maintenance and office/admin – something for everybody!

Hospice volunteers are assigned to the type of work that best suits their skills, time and interests.  Some volunteers have a regular shift in one or more areas of volunteering, while others are on-call when required.

Applicants are invited to attend an interview and are then thoroughly trained and supported in the skills they need for their volunteer role.  Ongoing training is offered throughout the year through the provision of on the job training, workshops and seminars.

If you have a few hours a week to give to others, becoming a Hospice volunteer may be a rewarding experience for you!  If you see a position below that interests you, please complete the application form and email to info@ipswichhospice.org.au.
